Plot(줄거리)  :  소백은 500년 동안 수련을 하여 신선의 경지가 눈앞에 있다. 하지만 매번 그 직전에 주화입마에 빠져서 거기에 이르지 못한다. 소백이 주화입마에 빠질 때마다 그녀의 동생인 소청이 그녀를 구한다. 오늘도 소백은 주화입마에 빠졌다가 소청의 도움을 받는다. 소백은 왜 항상 신선의 경지에 이르기 전에 주화입마에 빠지는지 괴로워하면서 자신의 마음에 구멍이 뚫린 것같다고 말한다. 이에 소청은 머리에 꽂고 있던 비녀를 소백에게 건넨다. 소백이 그 비녀를 손에 잡자, 500년 전(500 years ago)의 기억이 떠오른다. 당나라 말기, 세상은 혼란스러웠다. 요괴들이 인간 세상에 출몰하고 황제는 불로장생의 묘안을 강요하였다. 국사(国师) 태음진군이 계속 실패하자 황제가 진노하였고, 태음진군은 뱀으로 도술을 수련하여 황제의 총애를 받기 위해 백성들에게 강제로 뱀을 잡아오게 하였다. 이를 두고 볼 수 없었던 백사(白蛇) 소백은 태음진군을 암살하려다가 실패하고 그의 제자의 공격에 바다에 빠져 정신을 잃는다. 다행히도 순수한 청년 아선이 소백을 구하지만, 소백은 모든 기억을 잃어버린 상태인데..
