Summary(개요)  :  The Unholy follows Alice, a young hearing-impaired girl who, after a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. Plot(줄거리)  :  젊은 청각 장애 소녀 앨리스(Alice)는 소위 동정녀 마리아의 방문 후에, 불가해(不可解)하게 듣고, 말하고, 병자(病者)를 치료할 수 있게 된다. 소문이 퍼지고, 먼 곳과 가까운 곳에서 사람들이 그녀의 기적을 목격하기 위해서 모여들자, 불명예를 안은 후에 자신의 커리어를 되찾기를 희망하는 기자가 뉴잉글랜드에 위치한 그 작은 마을에 조사차 방문한다. 그런데, 무시무시한 사건들이 곳곳에서 일어나기 시작하자, 그 기자는 의문을 갖기 시작한다. "이 현상들이 동정녀 마리아의 작품인가?" 아니면 "훨씬 더 사악한 무엇인가가 있는 것인가?"
