Plot(줄거리)  : 은퇴한 보안관 조지와 그의 아내 마가렛은 몬태나 목장(Montana ranch)을 운영하면서 아들 부부와 함께 살던 중에 사고로 아들을 잃는다. 몇 년 후, 조지와 마가렛은 며느리 로나가 손자를 데리고 도니에게 재혼하는 것을 축하해 준다. 그런데, 얼마 후에 마가렛은 도니의 폭력적인 성향을 목격하고, 다음 날 로나를 찾아간다. 하지만, 전날밤에 로나와 손자가 도니를 따라서 그의 가족에게로 떠났다는 사실을 알게 된다. 결국, 조지와 마가렛은 어린 손자를 구하기 위해서 몬태나 목장(Montana ranch)을 떠나서 노스 다코타(North Dakota)로 향한다. 그곳에 도착한 후에 조지와 마가렛은 손자가 (다코타에서 자급자족하는) 위험한 가족의 수중(手中)에 있다는 것을 알게 되고, 손자와 자신들의 생존을 위한 싸움을 시작한다.
